Thymallus thymallus
Greyling grow up to 3kg but fish over no longer that common. They spawn in the spring. The male keeps a harem. The female digs a nest so as to protect her eggs. Greyling can spawn in flowing water. They are found in eastern Norway (east of Mjøsa). The largest percentages are found in Finnmark, Rauma in Møre and Romsdals, Trønderlag, Nordland, and Troms. They live in running and still water. When in river they prefer the still runs. Greyling eat an assortment of insects, lavear and falling insects that fall on the waters surface.
